COSCO: Delivery of New Vessel
The Board of Directors of COSCO Corporation (Singapore) Limited wishes to announce that its subsidiary, COSCO (Zhoushan) Shipyard Co., Ltd. ("COSCO Zhoushan") has delivered a new build ship, a 57,000 dwt bulk carrier, the M.V. SHUN XIN, to its buyer, a subsidiary of China COSCO Holdings Company Ltd.

DB Schenker has reached an agreement to provide the International Paralympic Committee (IPC), headquartered in Bonn, Germany with Logistics, Freight Forwarding and Customs Clearance services across Vancouver 2010 (March 12 to 21) and London 2012 (August 29 to September 9) Paralympic Games as well as other key IPC events.
Statoil and GAC Sign Worldwide Agency Contract
Major energy group Statoil has appointed GAC to provide hub agency services covering all ports outside of Norway effective from 2010.The contract extends GAC's long-standing relationship with Statoil through GAC Norway since the 1980s.

Sharjah Container Terminal Adds Yangming Feeder Service
Sharjah Container Terminal (SCT), the first purpose built container terminal in the Middle East, experienced steady import volumes according to Gulftainer which will now be augmented by the launch of a feeder service by Yangming Lines. The YM XIAMEN weekly service will be serviced by a 350-TEU, 107 metres long.
Saudi Arabia Mulls New Port for Food Imports
Saudi Arabia is considering building a new port in the Red Sea city of Jeddah to handle rising imports such as wheat and barley under a food security plan, an official said. Food security has topped the policy agenda in the Gulf region following rampant inflation in 2008.
Qingdao Port Chairman: Aim to Build 400,000-Ton Ship Berth
Qingdao port, China's second-largest foreign trade port, is in preliminary talks with Brazilian miner Vale S.A. (VALE) to develop a shipping berth for 400,000-metric-ton iron-ore carriers, but there has been "no deeper talks" on the issue.
Changi Airport Group Invests in Rome Airports
Changi Airport Group (CAG), through its wholly-owned subsidiary Changi Airports International (CAI), has acquired a five per cent stake in Gemina SpA, the holding company of Aeroporti di Roma (AdR), the largest investment for the group's expansion overseas to date. The S$100 million (US$71.20 million) acquisition makes CAI one of the key shareholders of Gemina, which is listed on the Milan Stock Exchange.
China's Air Cargo Volume Surges 68pc in January
China achieved robust increase in both of its air cargo and passenger volume in January over the same month in the preceding year with cargo traffic even soaring by a strong 68.2 per cent.China recorded an airfreight volume of 450,726 tonnes in January with domestic volume increasing 52.4 per cent and international cargo soaring 120.8 per cent.
Continental February Load Factor 77.7pc, Increases 5.2pc
Continental Airlines reported a February consolidated (mainline plus regional) load factor of 77.7 per cent, up 5.2 points year on year with a mainline load factor of 78.1 per cent, up 5.2.Both February load factors were records for the month.
Indonesia, Netherlands Agree to Boost Relations
Indonesia and the Netherlands at a meeting agreed to step up their bilateral relations in the trade and investment fields. The mutual commitment was formalized in the agreed minutes of the 20th meeting of the two countries' Joint Commission on Bilateral Economic Cooperation signed by their respective representatives.
S'pore Investors Eying 10 RI Business Sectors
Twenty-two Singaporean investors have expressed readiness to invest up to Rp1 trillion in Indonesia this year, the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) said. The Singaporean investors mostly want to invest in the small- and medium-scale manufacturing business sectors.
Demand for Cars in Indonesia Increasing
In Indonesia, the demand for cars has continued to increase over the past two months and it is expected to increase with a sales projection of 55,000 - 60,000 units this month, a businessman said. The domestic car market continues to improve. In January sales reached 52,000 units and in February 55,000 units.
